This series takes the viewer on a journey through the sixties, seventies, and eighties through archive footage, and recorded testimony of the time, as we rediscover the decades that defined us. The sixties, seventies, and eighties would usher in the modern world, but as humanity finally began to find its feet after the devastation of two world wars, new challenges would emerge. Empires collapsed and countries gained independence for the first time in centuries, redrawing the map. And the world divided into two, as the Cold War left billions living in fear of nuclear annihilation, waiting to see which side would blink first. Protests, peaceful and otherwise, forced a radical rethink in how people are treated based on their race and gender, as Martin Luther King’s dream started to come true, putting us on the path of greater equality and enabling the influx of ideas from other cultures and identities.
