Former Premier League footballer and self-confessed ‘sneakerhead’, Jermaine Jenas is on the trail of the world's most expensive trainers. With the global sneaker resale market expected to be worth £21 billion by the end of the decade, Jenas explores what’s driving this craze and where it’s heading. His journey takes him across the UK – and to New York as he tracks down some of the world’s priciest kicks, meeting avid collectors and a new generation of young entrepreneurs along the way.
He'll also fulfil every ‘sneakerheads’ dream… getting his hands on a pair of Michael Jordan’s game worn sneakers. He tracks down avid memorabilia collector Nick, who spent just under $1.5 million at auction buying MJ’s earliest known game worn pair. He then visits a highly secure vault, where he lays eyes on perhaps the most valuable pair of them all – made famous for being worn by Jordan during an exhibition game in 1985 where he famously shattered the backboard.
