Great British History Hunters unpacks the stories behind of some of the UK’s recent archaeological finds.

Every year, more than 50,000 archaeological discoveries are reported to the British Museum Portable Antiquities Scheme’s team of experts. Each episode focuses on one area of the UK — East Anglia, Kent, Yorkshire and Wiltshire — that are not only significant in terms of Britain’s historical past and but have also yielded rich archaeological pickings in recent years.

Each episode features a regional Finds surgery where passionate detectorists, mudlarkers and amateur historians (alt where members of the public) can bring their treasured artefacts to the Museum's network of Finds Liaison Officers, helping the experts to piece together Britain’s historical past from what they've discovered buried beneath their feet.
