BossaNova hires marketing, rights and acquisitions execs, reveals distribution deals

London-based content creation, funding and distribution specialist BossaNova Media has expanded its team with the hire of three new executives.

Alex Pye has been appointed to the newly created role of marketing manager.

She joins from Warner Bros Discovery, where she served as a marketing executive in the international licensee division, developing and executing multi-territory marketing campaigns.

Pye’s CV also includes a five-year stint as head of marketing for WestEnd Films.

Meanwhile, Kristina Giulalieva has been named contracts rights co-ordinator, reporting to director of commercial and business affairs Claire Lowe.

Starting her career as an actress, Giulieva moved behind the camera to become a production assistant at London-based agency WendyVision, which specialises in music videos, commercials and short films.

Finally, Sarah Postlethwaite takes on the role of acquisitions executive, supporting head of acquisitions Claire Runham.

She has previously held marketing roles at Entertainment One and AMC Networks.

Postlethwaite will divide her time between her new responsibilities at Bossanova and the content team at Eccho Rights, with both companies owned by Munich-based Night Train Media.

Paul Heaney, founder and CEO, BossaNova, said: “In this business climate we are being very careful to hire only when we see the need and the benefit to all stakeholders.

“Alex, Kristina and Sarah are enhancing what was already a hugely talented, high achieving and dynamic team.

“For a company like BossaNova, which runs on trust and relationships, investing in up-and-coming colleagues is as important as investing in great shows. We want them to really enjoy their roles and thrive.”

In other company news, Bossanova has also sealed a handful of recent distribution deals.

It has agreed a renewal package with Sky, which sees the pay TV broadcaster acquire factual titles Border Patrol (S9 to 12), Highway Patrol (S8,9 & 15), and Caught on Dashcam (S1).

Meanwhile, Borderforce USA: The Bridges has also been picked up by Discovery Latin America (S2&3), Discovery Nordics (S1-4), Mediawan (S1-5) and RTL Netherlands (1-5).
