In July 1996, the body of a dead man is found in the nets of a fishing trawler deep off the coast of Devon – and all there is to identify him is a Rolex watch on his wrist. The local Devon police think they are investigating a tragic accident. At first, it’s a complete mystery. No one with his description has been reported missing. The police have only one lead - the Rolex watch on his wrist. The serial number unlocks the name of the murder victim as a Mr Ronald Platt. But when they visit his home, Mr Platt seems to be inexplicably alive. Little did they know they’d find themselves unravelling a twisted story of money, murder and stolen identities with echoes of ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’, leading to an audacious con man who turned out to be one of Interpol’s most wanted.
