Dina Subhani and Paul Haney hired Jasmin Joseph, who had her stint at TCB Media Rights, and also announced their first distribution agreements.

BossaNova confirmed its first hire, along with its launch list and details of its inaugural Development Day launch event, which has already attracted 50 buyers and commissioners from 35 channels and platforms.

Jasmin Joseph joins the new company as Chief Marketing Officer, the first full-time appointment announced by BossaNova that was launched in late 2020. Joseph worked with Heaney and Subhani at TCB Media Rights, as an apprentice in 2016. TCB then sponsored Joseph to attend the factual development and production course at the Escuela Nacional y Cinematográfica, from which she graduated in 2018. She then became the marketing and materials executive at TCB Media Rights , playing a key role in the rapid growth of the company from boutique operation to one of the most successful independent distributors in the UK. At BossaNova, Joseph will manage the marketing and advertising of the company's brand and catalog, including social media, creating and producing promotions and showreels, title graphics, and internal banners / brochures.

On the first addition, Dina Subhanicommented: "We are very lucky to have Jas join us at BossaNova as her work ethic is second to none. We all know that however brilliant your shows are, creative and skilled marketing is crucial to getting through the noise. Now , with Jas's help, we're ready to start spreading the word. "

Additionally, the company confirmed BossaNova's first programming slate with five series and two 90-minute specials. The list includes the first three seasons of Stampede Productions '' Borderforce USA ' (30x60'), which follows the work of U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in their attempt to prevent terrorists, drug traffickers and arms dealers from crossing the world's busiest border between the United States and Mexico . BossaNova has funded the third season (10x60 ') which is currently in production and will air later this year on UKTV .

Also featured are the first two seasons of 'The Car Years' (14x30'), with the second season again funded by BossaNova and broadcast in the UK on ITV4 . On the front of the documentary, ' Cruising: The Biggest Storm' (1x90 ') of CJZAustralia, examines the biggest crises in the history of the cruise industry.

BossaNova is also launching its own Development Day, a presentation concept that Heaney successfully pioneered at TCB Media Rights to bring buyers and sellers together and accelerate the creation of outstanding factual projects. The first BossaNova Development Day will take place on January 21 and will use the latest technology to connect 50 buyers with 20 producers, who will present some 50 new projects.

The event will offer indies an intimate platform from which to pitch their ideas to key buyers, in order to secure the pre-sales necessary to fund those projects, while also giving buyers early access to fresh and original ideas from some of the best fact producers in the business. Development Day also addresses BossaNova's launch commitment to leverage its global network of buyer relationships, built over 35 years in the media and distribution industries to create opportunities for ambitious producers looking to grow their businesses. Regarding this event, Paul Heaney He concluded: "This is the recreation and progression of the center and the community that we created with such success at TCB. We must have stumbled upon something special, as the number of attendees this year is huge and the quality of the projects is very high." .
