C21 Media: BossaNova appoints Holly Cowdery to head sales
BossaNova appoints Beyond Rights alum Holly Cowdery to head sales
BossaNova, the UK content creation, funding and distribution company led by Paul Heaney, has hired former Beyond Rights executive Holly Cowdery as head of sales.
In the new role, Cowdery will manage BossaNova’s sales into the UK, North America, France, Italy and Asia. She joins senior sales manager Tatjana Kostovski, who is in charge of sales to Germany, Nordics, Benelux, CEE, Iberia, Latin America and MENA.
Cowdery joins from Beyond Rights, which acquired TCB Media Rights in April 2020, following the collapse of Kew Media Group. Cowdery’s appointment sees her reuniting with other original team members from TCB: Jasmin Joseph joined as marketing manager in 2020, becoming BossaNova’s first employee; then Claire Lowe joined as commercial and business affairs director and Charlotte Johnson as finance and operations director at the start of this year.
At Beyond Rights, Cowdery was VP of CEEMEA, France and Nordic for nearly two years, while at TCB, she was TV sales executive for Germany, CEEMEA and Benelux before being upped to sales manager for Germany, CEEMEA, Nordics and Asia.
Prior to TCB, Cowdery served as a sales executive at eOne and sales liaison TVD, Poland, Israel and Turkey at NBC Universal after starting her career at Lionsgate.
Cowdery said: “I couldn’t be more delighted to be re-joining Paul and the team. I am passionate about the content I sell and about the need to make strong, lasting relationships with clients. The opportunity to get onboard the new hybrid model of BossaNova was too good to resist.”
Heaney, CEO of BossaNova, said: “Holly brings a verve to her trade as an outstanding sales person. Her content knowledge and professionalism allied to her intelligence, maturity and sparkling personality puts real weight behind BossaNova and will add an X factor into what is already an outstanding team.”
