Broadcast: Distributor wrap: BossaNova set out plans

Paul Heaney and Dina Subhani’s fledgling distribution outfit BossaNova has unveiled its debut slate, while Passion Distribution has called for ideas in six genres via a Producers Programming Brief.

BossaNova is shopping the first three 10-part series of Dave’s Borderforce USA from Stampede Productions along with the first two runs of ITV4’s The Car Years (Wiser Films).

The distributor, which was formed in October by the ex-TCB bosses, has also deficit financed the third and second runs respectively of the two shows.

BossaNova has also taken on two 90-minute feature docs — American 965 from Fact Not Fiction Films, which charts the story of a deadly 1995 plane crash - along with Cruising: The Biggest Storm from Australia’s CJZ.

Elsewhere, the outfit will host development day to bring together buyers and sellers, with the aim of fast-tracking the creation of stand-out factual projects.

It has also signed up former TCB marketing and materials exec Jasmin Joseph as marketing manager.

“This is the recreation and progression of the hub and community we so successfully created at TCB,” said Heaney.
