BossaNova has completed sales across Europe and Canada for Tsunami: The Day the Wave Hit, detailing the Indian Ocean tsunami that took place on December 26, 2004.

The two-parter provides a minute-by-minute account of the natural disaster that claimed nearly 230,000 lives through firsthand testimony and never-before-seen archive footage. It also delves into the legacy of the event, from the heartbreaking months people spent searching for missing family to the years-long task of rebuilding towns, lives and communities.

Viasat World has picked up the docuseries for its feeds in the CEE, CIS, Nordic and Baltic territories. SVT in Sweden and Radio-Canada in Canada also acquired the series. Earlier this year, it was presold to Channel 4 in the U.K. and SBS in Australia.

Tsunami: The Day the Wave Hit is produced by Argonon-owned BriteSpark Films.
